    California is the only State that was not a colony or a territory before statehood. It went from being a part of Mexico, to become a State.

    To Betty: the Railway Museum on highway 12 is a dinky museum. The California State Railroad Museum is in Old Sac. Two different places.

    Last time I was at the Railroad Museum it was ion Hwy 12 out of Suisun and Cordelia! Not Sacramento!
